Did you know you can practice ritual even if you’re not a witch?
Lately, I've been creating lots of ritual content at the request of my friends and readers. My goal with these contents is to normalize ritual as an everyday practice—something as natural as making your morning tea, cooking a meal, daily exercise, or sitting down to begin work.
Ritual does not have to be elaborate. Often it is simply an ordinary action performed with intention.
Over time, bringing this level of attention to daily moments can transform the rhythm of your life. The mundane becomes meaningful. Small pauses create space for reflection, clarity, and grounding.
For me, tea rituals infused with astrology have become one of my favorite ways to do this.
You don't need to identify as a spiritual practitioner or follow certain beliefs to create a ritual. Anyone can use intentional actions to create moments of presence, balance, and connection throughout the day.
What Is an Astrological Tea Blend?
The relationship between herbs and astrology is ancient. Traditional astrologers and herbalists observed that plants, planets, and the human body follow similar rhythms. This practice—sometimes called astroherbalism—studies how zodiac signs, planetary archetypes, and herbal energetics interact. Tea rituals are one of the simplest ways to bring this wisdom into everyday life.
Where I Get My Tea Ingredients
One question I receive often is:
“Where do you get your herbs?”
Most of the time, the honest answer is: Amazon.
I think people sometimes expect me to say I travel to specialty herb shops or grow everything myself. While I love those approaches, my Gemini rising with Mercury on the Ascendant tends to prioritize speed and convenience.
When I’m creating a blend, certain herbs simply stand out to me. Many are already in my kitchen, and if something is missing I just search and order it on Amazon and have it delivered quickly.
That said, everyone has a different relationship to sourcing ingredients.
Air rising signs may enjoy researching and ordering online.
Earth rising signs might prefer visiting local shops and selecting herbs by hand.
Fire and water rising signs often do well finding a trusted supplier they return to regularly.
If you prefer herbal suppliers, a few suggestion from my friends:
Mountain Rose Herbs
Frontier Co-op
If you have a favorite herb supplier, I’d love to hear about it!
How to Practice a Tea Ritual
There are absolutely no strict rules for practicing a tea ritual.
The most important element is your intention.
A tea ritual can be as simple as preparing tea with awareness.
You do not need special tools, elaborate prayers, or a particular belief system.
You only need a moment of attention.
How Astrology and Herbalism Work Together
Astrological tea blends usually combine three symbolic layers.
1. Zodiac Body Correspondences
Traditional astrology associates each zodiac sign with specific parts of the body.
For example:
Zodiac Sign | Body Area |
Aries | Head |
Taurus | Throat |
Gemini | Lungs |
Cancer | Stomach |
Leo | Heart |
Virgo | Digestive system |
Libra | Kidneys |
Scorpio | Reproductive system |
Sagittarius | Hips and thighs |
Capricorn | Bones |
Aquarius | Circulation |
Pisces | Feet |
Herbs can be selected to gently support the areas ruled by a particular sign.
For example:
Taurus tea blends often include soothing throat herbs
Virgo blends often support digestion
Pisces blends focus on relaxation and emotional balance
2. Planetary Herbal Correspondence
Plants are also traditionally associated with planetary archetypes.
Examples include:
Planet | Herbal Qualities |
Sun | vitality herbs |
Moon | calming, nurturing herbs |
Mercury | nervous system support |
Venus | soothing, harmonizing herbs |
Mars | stimulating, warming herbs |
Jupiter | expansive, uplifting herbs |
Saturn | grounding, strengthening herbs |
For example:
Mars herbs such as ginger or nettle are warming and energizing, while Venus herbs like rose or chamomile soften and harmonize.
3. Herbal Energetics
Traditional herbal systems also classify plants by qualities such as:
hot
cold
dry
moist
Blends are often designed to create balance between these qualities, which is why herbal tea formulas feel both soothing and supportive.
Daily Tea Ritual by the Moon’s Zodiac Sign
One of the simplest ways to practice an astrological tea ritual is to choose herbs based on the current zodiac sign of the Moon.
The Moon changes signs approximately every 2.5 days, which means the emotional tone of the sky shifts frequently. Aligning your tea ritual with the Moon’s sign is a gentle way to tune into these subtle changes. Check the current Moon sign, choose a tea that matches the energy of that sign.
You don’t need complex blends. Even one herb or tea can anchor the ritual.

A Simple Daily Astrological Tea Ritual
You don't need elaborate tools.
A tea ritual is simply making tea with awareness.
This 7-minute version works beautifully for daily practice.
Step 1 — Set the space
Put your phone away.
Clear a small surface.
Choose a mug that feels comforting.
Step 2 — Set a simple intention
One sentence is enough.
Examples:
I welcome clarity today.
I invite calm into my body.
I ask for guidance.
Step 3 — Prepare the tea
As the water heats, take three slow breaths.
Let the preparation itself become part of the ritual.
Step 4 — Let the tea steep
While the tea steeps:
notice the scent of the herbs
place one hand on your chest or belly
ask yourself: what do I need today?
Step 5 — The first sip
Take the first sip slowly.
This is the moment where the ritual becomes embodied.
Step 6 — Close the ritual
A tiny closing gesture completes the practice.
You might simply say:
“Thank you.”
Or take one long breath.
Moon Phase Tea Rituals
If you'd like to deepen the astrological aspect, tea rituals pair beautifully with the lunar cycle.
New Moon Tea Ritual
Focus: intention and beginnings.
Prepare tea while writing 1–3 intentions for the coming lunar cycle.
Waxing Moon Tea
Focus on creativity, confidence, and growth.
Choose herbs that uplift and energize.
Full Moon Tea Ritual
Focus: reflection and release.
Write down something you are ready to release and tear the paper afterward.
Waning Moon Tea
Focus on clearing, calming, and rest.
Choose herbs that soothe the nervous system.
Why Tea Rituals Work
Rituals are powerful because they create containers for awareness.
When you pause, breathe, and set an intention, you change the quality of the moment.
Astrology offers a framework for understanding timing, cycles, and inner rhythms.
Tea offers a simple, physical way to anchor those insights in daily life.
They create a practice that is both grounded and symbolic.
As I often say in my work:
Astrology gives language to what your soul already knows.
A tea ritual is simply a way to listen.
